September Weather 2017

Sept. 28th – a shock a drop in temperatures

Sept. 27 – Major Heat Spike for Great Lakes

During early September each of the Great Lakes were cooler than normal, but as of September 26th each of the lakes had caught up to or even surpassed where they were this time last year when lakes were exceptionally warm after a hot summer.

Sept. 26 – heat and drought

Sept. 18th

Very little to report here, except August-like temperatures! However, there is another hurricane, and this is a tragedy.

Sept. 17th

Sept. 10th – looks like a nice week!

I'm sure Hurricane Irma, now a tropical storm, will send some rain next week. Then, Hurricane Jose is still figuring out a plan.

Sept. 9th – crazy people watching for Hurricane Irma on live camera!

Sept. 7th

Sept. 6th – Hurricane Irma is followed by Jose, and Katia.

Joker says Trump won't allow Jose into the US. They'll be OK.

Sept. 5th – Hurricane Irma

Sept. 4th – on its way, 1 mm only!

September 3rd – Hurricane Harvey's remnant's move north: 17.8 mm

September 1 – no rain, but chilly temperatures!

Hurricane Harvey is now a storm, headed this way. Perhaps by Sunday. I will have to get that wood stacked!

The beach, Junior Bear, deer

We took another trip to the beach. This time to Prince Edward County. Until I sort photos, here is a video of the beach. It was relaxing.

In the meantime, while we were away, Junior Bear decided to trash my trailcam! It was on a tree, about 4' up. Screwed in, on a very strong mechanism. He bent it, it was on right angles. Then, ripped the box off the backing. I put it in his forest, it's my own fault!

These photos are of Junior Bear in the spring. I think he's grown some. He hasn't come up to the house recently. he's been a good boy, otherwise!

This is the evidence of his action. You can see him in the video!
What he left me with were 301 videos of the tops of the trees. I had to replace the batteries, and use a strap, as he broke the handy post. Well, bent it... We'll see if he messes with it in the new spot!

Then, prior to the bear violence, the deer were grazing...  It look like mom and fawn, the spots are fading.

Home through Eganville, Douglas, Arnprior

We took advantage of the sunny beginning to the week.
Day 1 on Golden Lake
Day 2 on Golden Lake

This was our drive home Monday, Sept. 25th.
We took a drive through along highway 60, along through Renfrew,  to Douglas, hugging the Ottawa River. Through Eganville, with great big fields, lying golden in the sunshine.

Delightful, old log homes from back in the day. The hay hay been cut, I hope the farmers are happy. Many are beginning to create silage for winter.
Through there, to Braeside, where the last train went through. Hubby has a picture of that! We ate lunch in Arnprior. We were home by 3 p.m., thankfully.

Lunch in Arnprior. I honked and scared a couple of customers. No one came, either. We just walked in. Lunch on the patio, in 33 degree heat! It was delightful.

A big bee decided to take a sip of my water. JB rescued it with the straw. It flew up, thanked him, and flew away happily.

Arnprior, a couple of hours after we left... How sad. Enjoy each day.
A woman was killed, backing out of her driveway around 5:30 p.m., after a man stole a truck and fled police.
